Transfer of Credit Policies
It is the policy of Texas Theological University to consider for transfer credits earned in a regular college or university or other college level institution. Courses which are not similar to the major of the student may be transferred as general electives, providing they meet all the seminary transfer policies and can be of use to the student’s degree plan. Only those credits that carry a grade of at least a ‘C’ or its equivalent can be considered for transfer. Texas Theological University requires that a certain portion of any degree be completed through the curriculum programs of Texas Theological University and may not be fulfilled by transferred or experiential credits. This will be decided on a case by case basis by the Pastoral Administration.
Attendance Policy
It should be noted that a student of Texas Theological University is expected to be punctual and display character worthy of representative of our Savior. The student alone is responsible for the communication involved in absences, not only to the professors, but to the Dean of Students if needed. The burden of information belongs to the student in the following policy.
- All students taking a course, regardless of classification, are expected to attend all scheduled classes.
- A student is allowed three (3) absences per semester. If an exam is involved, it may be made up at the discretion and convenience of the Professor. Any exam not made up by the allotted time will be given a grade of “0”.
- The professor should be apprised of any planned absence and all course work must be made up by obtaining the class time tape from the office.
- Upon the fourth (4th) absence, without recourse to Texas Theological University, or refund any tuition or fees, the student will automatically receive “FA” (failure due to absence) and be dismissed from class.
