Associate in Christian Education (60 credit hours)

Objectives

This Program of study will provide an Associate’s Degree in Christian Education. Upon completion of the program the student should have a deepened knowledge of the Bible and a thorough knowledge of education in the local church.

 This degree is not preparation for teaching in the public elementary or high school classroom.

 Course Requirements

In order to graduate with an Associate’s of Christian Education Degree the student must have satisfactorily completed the following requirements:

1. A minimum of 60 Credits for program completion

2. Orientation Requirements

3. A minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0

4. All financial obligations settled with TTU

5. Recommendation by the faculty for graduation

  • Apologetics                        3
  • Grammar                            3
  • Teaching Intern                3    (1 year or 2 semesters)
  • Composition                      3
Beyond the above requirements, the student must take the following number of credit hours in each of the listed departments.

Bachelor in Christian Education (129 credit hours)

 Objectives

This Program of study will provide a Major in Christian Education. Upon completion of the program the student should have a deepened knowledge of the Bible and a thorough knowledge of education in the local church. The student will have an understanding of the learning processes for children through adults including the ministries of the local church in maturing the saints for the work of ministry.  

 This degree is not preparation for teaching in the public elementary or high school classroom.

 Course Requirements

In order to graduate with a Bachelor of Christian Education Degree the student must have satisfactorily completed the following requirements:

1. A minimum of 129 Credits for program completion

2. Orientation Requirements

3. A minimum overall Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.0

4. All financial obligations settled with TTU

5. Recommendation by the faculty for graduation upon application

Graduate Degrees:

All of the graduate programs are to enhance the effectiveness of the Christian servant in carrying out the commission extended to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. The graduate degree programs at Texas Theological University not only provide the student with enhanced subject matter, but also encourage the graduate student to develop writing skills in his respective field.

Master of Arts in Christian Education

All Master Degrees will consist of 36 graduate semester hours. Six of these hours constitute the research and writing of a 15,000 word thesis. Each Graduate Student will submit in writing and receive approval from the TTU Administration a 1 to 2 page synopsis of their chosen topic for their Thesis. All of the graduate programs are to enhance the effectiveness of the Christian servant in carrying out the commission extended to us by the Lord Jesus Christ. The Master Degree programs at Texas Theological University & Seminary not only provides the student with enhanced subject matter, but also encourage the graduate student to develop writing skills in his respective field. The graduate student will be required to take 10 course @ 3 credit hours per course. Each course will consist of a research question which will require a research paper consisting of at least 7000 words and not exceeding 8000 words in length. Each paper submitted by the student for course credit towards any Master’s Degree will have a minimum of 12 research references. The graduate student may choose a new or previously researched topic for their Master’s Thesis. The graduate student may select a Master Degree plan in the following fields.

Ph.D. in Christian Education

TTU offers a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.) program that consists of 30 graduate semester hours. Twelve of these hours will constitute the research, writing, and defense of a 25,000 word dissertation. Each Ph.D Candidate will submit in writing and receive approval from the TTU Administration a 1 to 5 page synopsis of their topic for their Doctoral Dissertation. Texas Theological University & Seminary recognizes the need for Christian scholarship in publishing. The Ph.D. Candidate should be able to write and publish material that will further the Word of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. The Ph.D. Candidate should be able to teach and be competent and doctrinally reliable in their respective field of study. The Ph.D. Candidate will be required to take 6 courses @ 3 credit hours per course. Each course will consist of a question to the Ph.D. Candidate. The student will research the question and write a research paper for that question consisting of at least 11000 words and not exceeding 13000 words in length. Each paper submitted by the student for course credit towards any Doctoral Degree will have a minimum of 15 research references. The Ph.D. Candidate may choose a new or previously researched topic for their Doctoral Dissertation. The Ph.D. Candidate should exhibit the qualities of Christian leadership through his or her zeal and love for the Word of God. Ph.D. degrees are offered in the following fields of study:
